About Me

As a young writer

Today

Hello friends, readers, teachers, learners, and writers. The picture on the left is me at about the age of a year-and-a-half, holding a pencil almost as tall as I was at the time. At about the age of ten I started writing short stories, so I guess I always loved to write and teach.

Seven decades later, I am proud to say I am an accomplished (and more importantly, published) author, having had twenty-five books published. Read more about them on the Books section.

I am one of slightly more than 100 professionals worldwide to hold the Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive designation. In my thirty years as a philanthropic consultant, I have managed capital campaigns, helped hundreds of nonprofit organizations achieve their development goals, and trained more than 40,000 development professionals in Canada, Mexico, Egypt, Bermuda, and most of the fifty states in the US, in addition to leading hundreds of virtual training programs with a world-wide audience. I am especially proud of my affordable and comprehensive Online Courses, which I am adding to all the time. Check them out on the Nonprofit Courses page.

I am a graduate of Alvernia University and a Master Teacher graduating from AFP’s Faculty Training Academy.

I am active in teaching professionals about fundraising and other nonprofit topics.

While my consulting practice is limited because of my active teaching and writing career, I’ve managed capital campaigns, helped hundreds of nonprofit organizations achieve their development goals. I am dedicated to inspiring creativity and philanthropy! I hope you’ll find inspiration on these pages.
